The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ’14

This year, the 29th annual ceremony which inducts new artists into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. On April 10, 2014, artists will be inducted after being chosen by over 700 voters which consists of critics, music industry professionals and current members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as fans.

One of the most expected inductees is Nirvana, who has been chosen the first time they have been eligible. Since lead singer Kurt Cobain committed suicide 20 years ago, the band’s remaining members will be receiving the award, the Times reports.

Another inductee that comes with some commotion is the band Kiss. The band has been rejected once before by the Hall of Fame since they became eligible in 1999. Kiss fans even caused a protest outside of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland in 2006.

Other inductees include Hall and Oates, Cat Stevens, Linda Ronstadt, and Peter Gabriel as a solo performer.
