Nonprofit Organization Gives New Hope to Immigrants

Upwardly Global – a nonprofit group who operates in San Francisco, Chicago, and now New York – has been assisting immigrants with job training and professional networking skills, entirely free of charge. But the educational experience was taken to new heights last week when their usual meeting moved from a classroom to a bar, in efforts to provide a real-life interactive setting. Since the organization set foot on New York grounds in 2006, they have worked with over 900 immigrants and found job placements for about 250 of them.
